BCC Did You Know? iPhone App.

Birmingham City Council is keen to show its pioneering nature once more with this iPhone app for people with disabilities and carers within the city, the first of its kind from any local authority.

So, what does it do?

• It's pretty enough 
• Easy to use
• Provides links to useful YouTube information videos
• Provides links to BCC Adult Care website
• Allows you to easily send emails requesting more information from within the app

What's not so nice about it?

• As far as I can make out from a quick flick through, the app itself doesn't actually provide you with very much information at all, rather referring you back to the website & videos
• How much did this app cost to produce, launch and publicise? Was it really worth it for the people it's intended to serve?

Overall, I'd question the usefulness of this app to the user. All the information it links to either is, or could easily be, available on the BCC Adult Care website and I'd question how many users would discover and use this app before hitting the website first?!

Still, nice touch on the PR front, BCC....! ;)
